Claire, a dancer recovering from a career-ending injury, finds a small, sick tortoiseshell kitten in a grim alley behind her apartment. Desperate for a distraction from her pain, she takes it in and nurses it to health, naming it Echo. But Echo's arrival marks the beginning of a series of unsettling events. At first, it's small things: objects misplaced, doors creaking open. Then, Claire starts seeing fleeting glimpses of a shadowy figure reflected in windows, always near the cat. Her reclusive neighbor, Elara Vance, warns her that the cat is a 'vessel' and that she should get rid of it. Claire dismisses it as superstition, but the occurrences escalate into terrifying visions and nightmares linked to a forgotten tragedy that took place in the alley decades ago. She begins to suspect Echo isn't just a cat, but a conduit for a restless spirit seeking vengeance.
